Library Board Meetings
The five members of the North Valley Public Library Board of Trustees are elected by the Stevensville and Lone Rock School Districts. Library board meetings are open to the public. The Board of Trustees welcome public input and patron feedback. Our public participation policy gives opportunities for the public to comment throughout the meeting.
If you are unable to attend a Board meetings, but would like to give input, you can email one of the Board members. Their contact information can be found HERE on the Montana.Gov site. Please indicate if you want your comments read into the public record at the Board meeting. As per our Public Comment policy, you can also submit comments to the Director of the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org. "Comments may be given orally or in writing. Written comments should be submitted to the library director at least 24 hours prior to the meeting."
Board Meetings are held on the THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH at 3 pm, usually in the library. During the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings may take place online through Zoom. Public may participate online or by phone. To find out if the meeting is in-person or online and the login and/or call-in information for online meeting look at the upcoming agenda pasted below. Agendas are posted by the Friday before the meetings.
Occasionally, meetings may be moved or cancelled. Any changes are posted here. The agenda is posted on the front window of the library, the library website, and the Town of Stevensville bulletin board. The library also sends a notice of meetings to the Bitterroot Star to add to the calendar of events.
Once a year, there is a public hearing on the budget. Notices appear in the newspaper and the budget is available for the public to review. After the public hearing the budget is passed and a copy sent to Ravalli County.
