Currently, the library has Hotspots, HP Mini Netbooks, Amazon Kindle Fires, and Apple iPads available for North Valley Public Library cardholders!

Need access in a location that ordinarily has limited service?

Check out a Wifi Hotspot!

Get access to check email, social media, fill out forms, and so much more all from the comfort of your home! The Hotspots can be checked out for 7 days at a time. Unfortunately, at this time we do have a 24 hour delay in rechecking out Hotspots.

Amazon Fire Tablets

Have a young child that wants to play educational games, read/listen to books, watch tv/movies, and more?

Check out an Amazon Kindle Fire today!

Kindles come preloaded with Amazon Kids+ (formerly Amazon FreeTime) which enables users to download countless hours of entertainment and educational programs. These items are only for those under 18 and MUST be checked out by an adult. They do have to be connected to the internet in order to download. Check them out for 7 days at a time.

Apple iPads

Looking for a way to check email, social media, and read/listen to books on the Libby app, but don't want to tote around a heavy laptop?

We now have 7th generation Apple iPads available!

We've preloaded each device with the following apps: Flipster, RBDigitial, Libby, Facebook, Instagram, Skype, YouTube, Twitter, Vimeo, WebMD, Zoom, and GotoMeetings. An Apple ID is required for any additional app downloads. You may find that you need an internet connection to use the majority of apps, so be sure to check out one of our WiFi hotspots at the same time! Like our other devices, this item checks out for 7 days at a time with a $1/day fine.

HP ProBooks

Available now for checkout are HP ProBook Laptops. These check out for a week at a time with a $1.00/day fine. They come preloaded with Microsoft Office and have the software Deep Freeze to ensure patron privacy. An external storage device is necessary to save any work as it will be lost when the laptop restarts.

Interested in a hotspot, but don't have a computer? Our Netbooks are refurbished donated laptops loaded with Chrome OS (Operating System). Use Google Docs, Sheets, or browse the internet using Chrome. Netbooks can only be used to connect to the Internet, so any files you need to edit will need to be found and edited online. Also, be sure to save any work to an extra drive or cloud as these computers reset once the session has ended. Come check one out for 14 days at a time!

Please return all equipment to the front desk. Not the drop-boxes.

* Fines are $1.00/day for both Netbooks, Hotspots, Kindles, & iPads *

Library Computers

We have 9 public desktop computers and 2 children's room computers, all with Windows 10, full access to the internet, library resources, and common desktop applications.

Make sure to bring an external drive or save via cloud technology as computers are unable to save files. For information regarding our computer policy, please visit our policies page or click here.

Self-Checkout and Montana Shared Catalog Kiosks

For your privacy, a self-checkout Kiosk is located in front of the building. We also have two Montana Shared Catalog Kiosks available to find material at our partner libraries to place on hold. We ask that you only use these machines to search the online catalog and not the web.
