Computers and Technology
Currently, the library has Hotspots and HP Mini Netbooks available for North Valley Public Library cardholders!
Need access in a location that ordinarily has limited service? check out a hotspot today!
Get access to check email, social media, fill out forms, and so much more all from the comfort of your home! The Hotspots can be checked out for 7 days at a time. Unfortunately, at this time we do have a 24 hour delay in rechecking out Hotspots.
Interested in a hotspot, but don't have a computer? Our Netbooks are refurbished donated laptops loaded with Chrome OS (Operating System). Use Google Docs, Sheets, or browse the internet using Chrome. Netbooks can only be used to connect to the Internet, so any files you need to edit will need to be found and edited online. Also, be sure to save any work to an extra drive or cloud as these computers reset once the session has ended. Come check one out for 14 days at a time!
* Fines are $1.00/day for both Netbooks and Hotspots *
We have 9 public desktop computers and 2 children's room computers, all with Windows 10, full access to the internet, library resources, and common desktop applications. Make sure to bring an external drive or save via cloud technology as computers are unable to save files. For information regarding our computer policy, please visit our policies page or click here.
Self-Checkout and Montana Shared Catalog Kiosks
For your privacy, a self-checkout Kiosk is located in front of the building. We also have two Montana Shared Catalog Kiosks available to find material at our partner libraries to place on hold. We ask that you only use these machines to search the online catalog and not the web.
Printing & Scanning
High-speed printing and scanning is available at the library. Scanning is free to all patrons, but there is a small fee for printing.
You can print up to 500 pages on our high speed copier
Print single ($.10/page) or double-sided ($.15/page)
Paper sizes: standard stock, 8.5 x 11, 8.5 x 14 and 11 x 17 paper.
We can only provide black and white printing at this time.
To a USB (flash drive) or directly from the copy machine
To a workstation via the ADA machine on the end cube.
Email directly from the machine
The Library is currently ordering and working with partners to bring new technology items available for at home use for NVPL cardholders! Check back often!
Regrettably, we no longer offer a faxing service at the Library. There are several businesses within the town of Stevensville that can assist with this, or you can opt to fax via the internet faxing service (scan to fax).
