Mobile Hotspots

Get wireless access to the internet to check email, social media, fill out forms, and so much more all from the comfort of your home!

We have two different types of hotspots available: T-Mobile and Alcatel. While both function the same, they are designed a little differently.

Hotspot in opened box

T-Mobile: This hotspot has a menu screen you can visually cycle through by pressing the menu button. It will show you the hotspot name, password, data usage, and provide visual cues when powering on & off.

Alcatel: This hotspot has no menu feature to display the hotspot name or password. To connect to your device, you will need to follow the instructions and password included with the hotspot. Simply press the on button and wait for the hotspot to be available through your device's wifi connection screen.

  • Hotspots can be checked out to those with North Valley Public Library cards.

  • Hotspots can be used for multiple devices, so we check out one per household.

  • Hotspots are checked out for 14 days at a time, but you can return early!

  • Please return on time. There is a high demand, and the hotspots are a shared resource with your friends and neighbors. There is a $10/day fine for every day it is late.

  • Please note, there is a minimum of two (2) calendar days (gap days) between checkouts for household, regardless of the library card account. (Example: If your housemate returns a hotspot on Monday, you can check out on Thursday if one is available.)

  • Charge history is turned on if you are a hotspot borrower.

  • To check out a hotspot your account must be in good standing with a $0 balance. (No fines or blocked accounts.)

  • Return hotspots indoors while the library is open. Hotspots may not be returned in the outdoor book drop.
