GIVING TREE

The “Giving Tree” wall art, being placed south of the entry way of our current building, is designed to be easily moved to a prominent location in our future Library building. MMW Architects is busy transforming months of community surveys, input meetings, research, and consultations into a cost estimate at which time a capital campaign can commence toward bringing the community’s dream of a new Library building into a reality.

Provided by the Foundation, the Giving Tree is not only a beautiful and lasting thank you to individual donors but also a deeply thought-out tribute to the legacy of our community. Featuring deep roots, as befits the Bitterroot, the tree itself is an apple tree, in honor of Stevensville and the surrounding area’s history of apple orchards.

If you would like to contribute to the future of the community and have your name or your loved ones memorialized, either in the building itself or on one of the leaves, apples, roots, or stones of the Giving Tree, contact the Foundation.

Library Foundation Seeks Board Members

The nonprofit NVPL Foundation raises money to support the library and its programs and is seeking new members to join our board. The Foundation board meets once each month. The Foundation hosts various fundraising events throughout the year. These include Birdies for Books golf tournament each summer, Business Battle for Books winter fundraiser, and Brews for Books pint nights at local breweries. Board members also participate in community events such as Stevensville's Scarecrow Festival (fall), Country Christmas (winter), Western Heritage Days and Creamery Picnic (both summer), and a regional nonprofit fair (spring).

There are no residency requirements to serve on the NVPL Foundation board, but members must be able to attend board meetings (either virtually via Zoom or at the Stevensville library).

The Library is in need of a new building so capital campaign experience is sought.
